There is no cure for being stung.
Fiona doesn’t remember going to sleep. But when she opens her eyes, she discovers her entire world has been altered—her house is abandoned and broken, and the entire neighborhood is barren and dead. Even stranger is the tattoo on her right hand—a black oval with five marks on either side—that she doesn’t remember getting but somehow knows she must cover at any cost. She’s right.
Those bearing the tattoo have turned into mindless, violent beasts that roam the streets and sewers, preying upon the unbranded while a select few live protected inside a fortress-like wall, their lives devoted to rebuilding society and killing all who bear the mark.
Now Fiona has awakened, branded, alone—and on the wrong side of the wall.
Stung is a fast-paced, different book that puts a unique twist onto the YA genre. I fell in love with this world and everything about Stung!
The beginning was a bit hard to connect with. It took me awhile to get accustomed to the world and the characters, but after awhile, I was totally enthralled and enhanced into Bethany Wiggins's lush world. And the whole process of being stung was so unique and frightening. I adored all of the elements of dystopian mixed in with a kick-butt character! And this book gave me the feel of Sleeping Beauty, which was super cool.
Fiona, like I said, was such an awesome character. I fell in love with her instantly; I was dying to know more about her, and I really cared for her! Wiggins did a masterful job at creating her character growth, and I was honestly struck at how amazing her development was plotted out! It was fantastic.
And the ending was insane! I flew threw the final 25% of the book, simply because it was so captivating! So much action and tension, Stung stands out!
Overall, Stung was brilliant! Slightly terrifying and all-around enticing, Stung is one not to be missed!
